How We Began:

I founded the 106 Memorial Foundation in the wake of the tragic loss of my father, Sgt. Robert "Bobby" Swartz, who dedicated 25 years of service to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office. Known to his grandchildren as “Papa Policeman,” my father was more than just a dedicated officer—he was the world’s best father and grandfather. He had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. Whether cheering at his granddaughter’s soccer games or creating lasting memories together, they were his greatest joy.

On August 22, 2022, my father was shot and killed in the line of duty, leaving behind a legacy of bravery, service, and unwavering dedication to his community. In the aftermath of his death, I found solace and strength in the overwhelming support from the law enforcement family and the community. This inspired me to create the 106 Memorial Foundation—a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the sacrifice of fallen officers and supporting the families left behind.

The foundation’s mission is deeply personal, born from my own journey of grief and healing. My goal is to ensure that no law enforcement family facing the devastating loss of a loved one has to navigate it alone. The 106 Memorial Foundation provides financial assistance, grief resources, and a compassionate network to help families through their darkest moments. Through community events like the annual Sgt. Swartz Memorial 5K and other outreach initiatives, we not only honor the sacrifices of fallen officers but also provide meaningful, lasting support to their families.

This foundation is a testament to my father’s legacy and a commitment to preserving the memory of those who have given their lives in the line of duty. With every donation and act of support, we honor their sacrifices and ensure that their families receive the care, compassion, and respect they deserve.
